       TRANSPARENCY:     Plexiglas             Resin                   Fiberglass

Transparency 100x300cm

Three plexiglas panels hung in front of the wall-to-wall mirror in a dance studio. The panels, used as scenery for a performance, cast suggestive shadows on the walls as well as reflecting the images. The painted figures danced with the performers.

Performance

The panels served as scenery for a ballet performance at the show's opening.

panel detail

Since plexiglas is a non-absorbent material, I used printing inks and transparent paints for glass because of their fast drying properties. I had less than a month to finish these three panels.

Work in progress

The panels propped against chairs to control the images in transparency.

Mounting panels at Hotel Fontermosa

The 3 panels are now hanging in Hotel Fontermosa, 4 star hotel in the beautiful beach area of Tuscany, Italy. They are used as sliding panels to divide the lounge area and the dining room. (See the link)
